Following her fellowship, Dr. Torrealday gained additional experience and expertise in mental health evaluation, mental health policy and system administration. Dr. Torrealday served as the Clinical Director of a large urban Juvenile Court in Western TN and then in mental health administration for both youth and adults services with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). In these roles, Dr. Torrealday supervised clinicians, evaluated youth and their families, served as an expert in juvenile delinquency and dependency cases, and consultant to juvenile and criminal justice departments. She frequently worked within multidisciplinary teams, trained mental health clinicians and correctional staff on mental health-related topics, and conducted psychological evaluations of youth and adult offenders. |
Dr. Torrealday served as training faculty with the UT Professional Psychology Internship Consortium within the Department of Psychiatry in Memphis and as Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at UTMB where she has assisted with the training of pre-doctoral psychology interns, psychiatry residents and child psychiatry fellows. Dr. Torrealday is also actively involved in multiple state and national professional associations. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has conducted numerous regional, national, and international presentations on topics related to mental health and mental health and the law. She serves on an Editorial Board and has been a reviewer for several academic journals. |
Dr. Torrealday is licensed as a psychologist in multiple states, including Florida (PY9301). As a native Spanish speaker, Dr. Torrealday conducts comprehensive evaluations of children, adolescents and adults in both English and Spanish. She is excited to be back and be a part of the Tampa Bay Area mental health community.
